The Wellness Councils of America (WELCOA)
WELCOA links communities and coalitions together into a supportive network. In addition to helping organizations build structurally sound wellness programs, WELCOA serves as a national clearinghouse and information center on worksite wellness. WELCOA publishes a number of source books, a monthly newsletter, and an extensive line of brochures.
Wellness Council of Wisconsin
The local affiliate of Wellness Council of America, located in Milwaukee, provides information from a local level regarding all aspects of employer health and wellness.
Small Steps to Better Health
Sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services, Smallstep.gov provides a range of informational resources to assist in achieving health goals. It offers a free newsletter, tips, recipes, and allows you to set a physical activity goal, track your activities, and check your progress.

Shape Up America
A high profile national initiative to promote healthy weight and increased physical activity in America, ShapeUp.org provides information on physical activity, a 10K-A-Day Walking Program, and additional information on healthy eating.

National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD)
NCADD provides education, information, help, and hope to the public. It advocates prevention, intervention, and treatment.

American Lung Association
Featuring facts on allergy, asthma, and tobacco issues, LungUSA.org provides tobacco control information for employers, including a fact sheet on workplace smoking policies and resources to help employees quit smoking.

American Heart Association
Featuring creditable information on heart disease and stroke, AmericanHeart.org includes a family health section with information on nutrition and exercise, programs, and books. Additionally, it includes a personalized health management program to help employees lower their risk of heart attack and stroke. The program is free and is tailored to individual needs.

American Dietetic Association
Eatright.org serves the public by promoting optimal nutrition, health and well-being. It provides recipes, health tips, fact sheets, and other publications.

American Cancer Society
Prevention and awareness materials are available to the general public on early detection, tobacco and other topics. Learn about their Active For Life Worksite Physical Activity Program, a 10-week program encouraging employees to be more active on a regular basis by setting individual goals and forming teams for motivation and support.

America On the Move™
Providing messages to counter our obesity crisis by supporting adults and children in eating better and exercising more, America On the Move features goal-setting, tracking, and logging tools for physical activity. Order a step counter, sign up for daily health tips and a bimonthly health e-newsletter, monitor your physical activity progress on a trail map, and more. Individuals can also participate as part of a group.

Wisconsin Quitline
The Quitline is an excellent resource on tobacco cessation that includes educational materials and one-on-one counseling.

Worksite Wellness Resource Kit
Developed and published by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family services, the Worksite Wellness Resource Kit is an excellent tool to assist worksites with implementing wellness strategies that have proven effective. The kit walks you through the process of developing a worksite wellness program. The entire kit and individual sections can be downloaded from their Website, or complete the order form to receive a free, printed copy of the resource kit.

CDC LeanWorks
This free resource was developed particularly for small and mid-size companies, which typically have more limited resources to devote to obesity prevention efforts. However, the tools and resources available on CDC LEANWorks! can benefit companies of any size. CDC LEANWorks! can help employers calculate the cost of obesity for their organizations and develop tailored approaches to help control these costs through interventions such as fitness classes, lunchtime health education sessions, weight management programs, and more.

CDC Workplace Safety & Health
The Centers for Disease Control provides creditable information and resources related to many aspects of work place safety and health.
